The UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment (CGFI) is a national centre set up to accelerate the adoption and use of climate and environmental data and analytics by financial institutions.

The consortium of major UK universities and institutions which include The University of Bristol reflects the CGFI strategy to bring together the diverse range of expertise across different climate and environmental risks, research disciplines and geographies.

The Bristol CGFI team (from the Bristol Climate Dynamics and the Hydrology Group) are working on the development of compound wind and flood risk analysis for insurance companies and mortgage providers. We are also investigating what kind of new climate risk analytics are needed by financial institutions.
