Half a degree Additional warming: Prognosis and Projected Impacts on Health

The HAPPI-Health project brought together experts in climate (Bristol, Oxford) and health (LSHTM), as well as project partners from the Met Office and Public Health England, to provide a comprehensive analysis of temperature related mortality.

Outcomes from HAPPI-Health contributed to the reliability of projected extreme weather risk under 1.5C and 2C scenarios and fed directly into the international evidence to inform policy; IPCC AR6 and Special Report on 1.5C, and Lancet Commission on Climate Change. A focus on impacts at regional- and city-level were directly relevant for national policy discussions for example city preparedness during heatwaves.
