Bobby Antonio

Bobby’s research focuses on using generative machine learning models to improve precipitation forecasts over East Africa, particularly with an interest in more accurately forecasting precipitation extremes.

Bobby’s background is in physics and machine learning; He did a PhD in quantum computation, then moved into Data Science and Machine Learning, working in industry on problems such as forecasting and natural language processing. Bobby started in Bristol as an MScR student in 2022, and since then has also done small stints as a postdoc in Bristol and Oxford.

Bobby is now a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Climate Physics at University of Oxford
